DEL SHANNON

DEL SHANNON – “THE FURTHER ADVENTURES OF CHARLES WESTOVER” (1968)

I must confess — I haven’t actually heard this one, EXCEPT for the truly amazing reworking of Shannon’s own song “Runaway”, here heard as “Runaway ’67″. In this new version, the tempo is slower and the drama is higher; and everything great about the original is magnified and improved upon. In the new version, Shannon sounds less reedy and adolescent — his more adult version of the song is mournful, a real killer.

  2. Hey there, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility issues. When I look at your website in Safari, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, fantastic blog!
