VARIOUS ARTISTS – “HARD ATTACK, VOL. 1″ (1987)
This was a major label sampler from the late ’80s (I forget which label, perhaps Columbia), featuring all manner of long-haired blanditute. I include it here because the cumulative effect of this disc’s worth of music is a pleasant-enough time capsule. There are a few songs on it which I have genuine affection for, though, like Tonio K’s truly bizarre “I’m Supposed To Have Sex With You”, which is featured in the film “Summer School” with Mark Harmon. And for some reason, I actually like (albeit, in a very indefensible way) “Incommunicado”, by Marillion.

It’s not easy growing back long flowing golden locks after a brain removal surgery, but it’s worth it.
