It’s the 40th anniversary of VdGG! Here’s a great live set of theirs from ’71. It’s strange that the sound quality of the live bonus tracks on all the VdGG album reissues blow bigtime, but this sounds much better than any of them.

In a recent interview on Dutch radio I heard with Peter Hammill recently, he mentioned that the band played a live version of their 20-minute epic “A Plague Of Lighthouse Keepers” only five or six times before permanently retiring it. This set was one of those few times —
